STASHED
UNITE THE BAY
#STOPASIANHATE
For Asian American/Pacific Islander Heritage Month, STASHED, a local San Francisco based Streetwear boutique, STASHED, wanted to give back to the city they call home.
So in light of the rising hate crimes against the Asian community, we rallied the city of San Francisco to come together in solidarity to #UniteTheBay.
The initiative lead to a short film/PSA featuring Taylor Takahashi (lead actor in Eddie Huang’s directorial debut “Boogie”). And three core actions that brought together small businesses with ‘Signs of Solidarity’, united Asian designers from the Bay Area to design a #StopAsianHate t-shirt collection, and a collaboration with a local Oakland Bike crew to host a protest ride out against hate.
All proceeds benefitted the Stop AAPI Hate Fund, and the Vietnamese American Community Center of the Eastbay.

THE SHORT FILM / PSA

SIGNS OF SOLIDARITY
As a first course of action, STASHED pledged their retail space as a safe place agianst hate of any kind towards the Asians community, with a full storefront takeover.
The signage was designed by local Bay Area based, Asian lead design studio, Social Species. The messages of support read:
“Protect Asian Lives”
“Stand Up For Your Neighbors”
“No Room For Hate”
“Respect Our Elders”
“Solidarity”
Then, we united over 50 small businesses in the Bay Area to hang signs of solidarity in their store windows to symbolize safety and allyship all around the city.
THE T-SHIRT COLLECTION
Next, we united 14 Asian, Bay Area designers to design 15 unique #StopAsianHate t-shirt designs, where 100% of proceeds were donated back to the Asian community.
*Designer Credits (Left to Right): Bella Huang, Jason Lim, Vivian & MIles (Social Species), Brigitte La, Jessie Zo, Kim Mar, Linh-Yen Hoang, Maya Kulkarni, Liko, Lucien Ng, Taylor Takahashi, Daisy Lee, & Peter Paik
And when we put out the casting call for Asian people from the Bay Area to model each shirt, we got an overwhelming response of volunteers who offered their time to help us bring the collection to life.
THE STASHED x ABC PROTEST BIKE RALLY
Lastly, we partnered with local Oakland based bike crew, @AnotherBikeClub to host a protest ride out against hate in support of the Asian Community.
Over 150 riders united together to ride out in solidarity
with the Asian community.
